Description
As Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ), you will lead change and enable continuous improvement across the organisation. You will manage a team of HSEQ SMEs, develop policies, drive carbon reduction, and promote innovative safety and health management practices.
Your main goal is to ensure HSEQ risks are well-managed, with effective management systems supporting the Network Plus Group. You will foster a culture of high HSEQ standards and continual improvement, supporting leadership. You will actively monitor HSEQ performance, engage stakeholders, and ensure compliance with standards.
Working with the HSEQ team, you will promote a cross-functional culture focused on safety, health, environment, and quality. You will implement processes and reports to maintain high standards and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement governance frameworks and provide management reports.
- Develop strategic plans for HSEQ systems and risk management.
- Profile risks, monitor industry changes, and implement mitigation actions.
- Ensure legal compliance and update systems accordingly.
- Monitor and update HSEQ policies across contracts.
- Use performance data to drive improvements and strategic decisions.
- Develop initiatives to enhance HSEQ culture.
- Lead sustainability efforts towards Net Carbon Zero.
- Collaborate with clients and partners to adopt best practices.
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders and authorities.
- Promote safe behaviors on-site and in-office, managing competency assessments.
Experience and Qualifications
- Senior management experience leading large teams.
- Strong project management skills.
- Relevant HSEQ qualification (e.g., NVQ 4, NEBOSH Diploma, or related degree).
- Strategic thinker with experience in HSEQ strategy development and delivery.
- Experience in high-risk environments at a senior level.
- Root cause analysis expertise with appropriate certification.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and motivational skills.
- Strong organizational and decision-making abilities.
- Experience in the Utility Sector is desirable.
- Chartered membership of IOSH and IEMA preferred.
