Job summary

British Council in London is seeking a Group FP&A Manager to lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. You will consolidate inputs from multiple regions, deliver executive-ready narratives, and provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders.

The role partners with global FP&A teams to drive continuous improvement of financial models, Anaplan and other systems, and to support long-range planning and liquidity management.

We inspire.The Role:Group FP&A Manager responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, planning, forecasting, and performance analysis, providing actionable insights for senior decision-making while ensuring accurate consolidation, reporting consistency, and continuous improvement of financial models and forecasting processes.Accountabilities:Group FP&A Partnership & DeliveryContributes to the end-to-end delivery of monthly and quarterly management reporting, including Flash reports, business reviews, and performance updates, ensuring accurate insights, high-quality analysis, and professional presentation for senior stakeholders.Partner with senior leadership and SBU teams to support Board-level reporting, preparing executive presentations and ensuring financial performanceReportingDrive the planning and consolidation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly re-forecasts across P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, ensuring robust financial planning and alignment with organisational objectives.Deliver insightful financial analysis and reporting, including variance analysis, KPI tracking, FX impact assessment, and ad-hoc presentations, providing executive-ready narratives to support Board reporting and strategic decision-making.Support long-term financial strategy and liquidity management by involving in the Long-Range Plan development, building multi-year financial models with key stakeholders, and contributing to Group liquidity and facilities headroom reporting.Continuous ImprovementPartner with FP&A CoE to enhance Anaplan reporting, automate processes, standardise templates, and ensure accurate, high-quality data consolidation and reporting alignment.Relationship & Stakeholder ManagementPartner with FP&A CoE to deliver financial models, planning insights, and guidance across global FP&A teams.Role specific knowledge and experience:Essential:Experience of providing comprehensive finance support to senior stakeholders at Group levelDemonstrable experience of operating in international and multi-cultural organisationsExcellent excel skillsReport writing and presentation skillsExperience working in matrixed, multi-country environments.Desirable:Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).Commercial finance experience gained in an organisation undergoing change and driving for growthExperience of working with Centre of Excellences and global finance teamsExpertise in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Anaplan, Hyperion, Power BI).Role specific skills:Strong Financial Planning & Analysis expertise, including managing planning/reporting calendars, consolidating budgets, forecasts and annual plans, and delivering robust Group-level variance analysis and reporting.Proficient in financial systems and analytical tools, leveraging data to generate accurate insights and support informed business decisions.Highly analytical with excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills, capable of operating effectively in a fast-paced, global environment.Effective business partner and trusted advisor, building strong stakeholder relationships, influencing decision-making, and balancing opportunities with risk considerations.Strategic thinker with experience improving reporting, budgeting, forecasting and planning processes, driving best practices and enhancing the quality of management information across the organisation.Education: GraduateProfessional Qualification and Certification: Recognised International Accounting or Finance qualification or equivalent such as a relevant Accountancy or Finance degree (desirable).
