Qualifications

About the role:

As Group Financial Reporting Manager you will be responsible for helping to support the team in overseeing external and internal reporting for the Group. You will be responsible for providing accurate financial information to internal and external parties as well as understanding and communicating related accounting implications to the wider business.

Reporting into and working closely with the Director of Statutory Reporting you will have the opportunity to work on a range of different projects in a growing business and fast paced environment.

The department has an ethos of continuous improvement, refining systems and creating efficiencies. This, along with the rapid growth of the business, leads to a varied and dynamic working environment.

  • Assisting with reporting to investors, lenders and external parties
  • Assisting with accurate and timely reporting
  • Accounting for complex transactions and being a key subject matter expert on IFRS and statutory reporting
  • Preparation of the consolidation for the Group
  • Preparation of the UK annual financial statements under FRS101 and Group annual report under full IFRS
  • Reviewing the financial reporting of overseas subsidiaries
  • Identifying areas to enhance and improve the effectiveness of existing processes, controls and reporting automation
  • Providing information to tax advisors in respect of the corporation tax and deferred tax computations for both the UK and overseas subsidiaries
  • Work with both finance and non-finance colleagues, advising on anything in relation to financial reporting
  • Leading the external audit process
  • Ad-hoc projects, analysis and insight as requested by the business
  • Managing a small team responsible for the reporting process
  • Supporting in the digital transformation of the finance function by taking leading on projects to automate and standardise processes

About you:

Candidates with financial reporting experience within a pharmaceutical company, retail or manufacturing business, or similar commercial background, and ideally also with Big 4 experience, are likely to have the skills required to be successful in this role. We are also looking for:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Sage X3
  • Extensive knowledge of all areas of a working finance department
  • Experience of Group reporting
  • Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and ISA compliance
  • Sound business knowledge and commercial exposure
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to explain financial information clearly
  • Excellent analytical and numerical abilities, strong attention to detail
  • People management skills and the ability to collaborate and build relationships
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships both internally and externally
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours when working to deadlines
