Job summary

Axon Moore Group Ltd is recruiting a Group Financial Controller to oversee the majority of the finance function. You will manage group consolidation, monthly reporting to the CFO, and statutory reporting across subsidiaries, while upholding robust internal controls.

You will lead financial reporting teams and collaborate on M&A activity as required, driving commercial and strategic financial direction within a growing organisation in the South Yorkshire region.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA Chartered Accountant with post-qualification experience in industry.
• Experience leading sizeable finance teams and robust technical accounting skills.
• Commercial and strategic vision critical for group reporting and controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly and quarterly Group consolidation and reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial Board reports for CFO.
• Maintain robust controls across the Group.
• Prepare financial reports and statutory reporting across key subsidiaries.
• Report on risks and ensure internal controls are in place.
• Lead the finance function including reporting, day-to-day operations and transactional accounting teams.
• Involvement with M&A as needed, integrating businesses within the group structure.

Job description

Axon Moore are pleased to be supporting a well-established, acquisitive business in the South Yorkshire region to appoint a Group Financial Controller.

The business offers a range of innovative products and services to both a national and international customer base.

This person will be a key figure within the finance function and the wider business. They will oversee the majority of the finance function, working closely with the Group CFO. They will primarily be responsible for overseeing all financial and group reporting, as well as the operational and transactional finance departments.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing monthly and quarterly Group consolidation and reporting
• Preparation of monthly financial Board report for CFO
• Accountable for maintaining robust controls across the Group
• Preparing financial reports and information and statutory reporting across key subsidiaries
• Reporting on and preempting key risks and ensuring robust internal controls are in place
• Leading the finance function including financial reporting teams and day to day, operational and transactional accounting teams
• Involvement with M&A as and when, integrating businesses within the group structure

The ideal candidate for this role would possess the following skills and experience:

• Qualified ACA/ACCA Qualified Accountant
• Significant post-qualification experience in industry, preferably within a sizeable business having led substantially sized finance teams
• Strong technical accounting experience combined with commercial and strategic vision

This is a role offering hybrid working, with a requirement to be present in the office at least 3 days per week.
