Job description

Group Financial Controller

Industrial | Engineering | Multi-Site Operations

Pratap Partnership is delighted to be partnering with an established, private equity-backed industrial group to appoint an ambitious and commercially minded Group Financial Controller.

With a strong market position, a diverse customer base and ambitious growth plans, the business is entering an exciting period of financial and operational transformation.

Reporting directly to the Group CFO, this is a high-profile leadership appointment with genuine scope to influence, shape and transform the finance function. You will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial governance, improving reporting and systems, developing the finance team and delivering meaningful improvements that support the Group's strategic ambitions.

We are seeking an energetic, forward-thinking finance leader who combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen, intellectual curiosity and the drive to challenge the status quo. You will be confident taking ownership, influencing senior stakeholders and translating opportunities for improvement into measurable results.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys getting under the skin of a business, driving change and building a finance function that delivers real commercial value.

About You

You may already be an established Group Financial Controller or an ambitious senior finance leader ready to take the next step into a broader, more influential role.

You will bring:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, supported by strong technical accounting and financial control expertise.
  • Experience within a complex, multi-site industrial, engineering, manufacturing or operationally intensive business.
  • Proven success in improving financial reporting, strengthening controls and delivering process and systems improvements.
  • The ability to take ownership of group reporting, management accounts and financial governance.
  • Strong leadership credentials, with the ability to develop, motivate and build a high-performing finance team.
  • Commercial awareness and the confidence to engage, influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the resilience and determination to drive change and deliver results.

Experience within a private equity-backed organisation, or a business undergoing significant growth or transformation, would be advantageous.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is far more than a traditional financial control role.

You will join a substantial industrial group with established market foundations, significant operational scale and the investment and ambition to drive meaningful change.

Working closely with the Group CFO, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Make a tangible impact – take ownership of a finance function where your contribution will be visible and valued.
  • Lead genuine transformation – modernise reporting, strengthen controls, improve systems and drive greater efficiency.
  • Influence business performance – work alongside senior leadership to improve financial insight and support better commercial decisions.
  • Develop and shape your team – build capability, strengthen leadership and create a finance function equipped for future growth.
  • Play a key role in the Group's future – contribute to a wider transformation agenda within an ambitious, private equity-backed business.

If you are an ambitious, commercially astute finance leader who thrives on challenge, enjoys developing people and wants the opportunity to make a lasting impact within a complex industrial business, we would welcome a confidential conversation.
