The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Global Financial Controller (GFC) to lead financial operations at a £50M international design and manufacturing business. With a strong growth trajectory and a planned private equity-backed exit within three years, the company is scaling rapidly across the UK, US, and Australia. This role is critical in ensuring financial compliance, operational efficiency, and a scalable financial structure to support continued expansion. As Global Financial Controller, you will oversee statutory reporting, audit, cash flow, and internal controls, ensuring the business is structured for future investment and a high-value exit.

The Role – Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close & financial consolidation across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee statutory accounts preparation and ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and US/AUS regulations.
  • Strengthen internal financial controls & risk management policies to support the company’s growth.
  • Audit & Regulatory Compliance
  • Act as the primary liaison for external auditors across the UK, US, and Australia.
  • Ensure audit readiness & financial due diligence in preparation for the upcoming exit.
  • Drive financial process improvements, ensuring efficient and scalable reporting.
  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management
  • Monitor and manage multi-currency cash flow, ensuring financial stability & FX risk management.
  • Optimize treasury processes, including banking relationships, debt financing, and capital allocation.
  • Support financial structuring & due diligence to ensure Kingsway is positioned for a successful exit.
  • Leadership & Team Development
  • Oversee the finance team across UK, US, and Australia, ensuring consistency in reporting & compliance.
  • Lead systems & process upgrades to drive efficiency and improve financial governance.
  • Foster a high-performance finance function, setting KPIs for reporting, controls, and risk management.

What We’re Looking For

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with a strong background in statutory financial reporting & compliance.
  • Experience as a Group Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or Finance Director in an international, mid-sized business (£30M–£100M+).
  • Proven expertise in IFRS reporting, audit, and financial controls.
  • Strong in cash flow, treasury, and FX risk management.
  • Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or industrial sectors (preferred but not essential).
  • Process-driven mindset, with a track record of financial process improvement.
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
