Group Financial Controller

We’re looking for an experienced Group Financial Controller to play a central role in shaping our finance function and supporting the continued growth of our business.

This is a broad and influential role where you’ll be responsible for everything from management reporting, statutory accounts, and audit, through to cash flow, tax compliance, finance systems, and transactional finance. You’ll also lead and develop a team of finance professionals, ensuring they’re set up for success.

You’ll work closely with our CFO and FP&A Manager to deliver clear, accurate, and timely insights that help guide decision-making at every level. With exposure to senior leadership, lenders, and private equity stakeholders, you’ll be at the heart of the action—making sure our numbers tell the right story, and our controls keep the business on solid ground.

What you\'ll do
  • Lead, support, and develop the Group Finance team, creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Own the production of monthly accounts, statutory reporting, and audit.
  • Deliver accurate cash flow forecasts and drive improvements in working capital.
  • Partner with the CFO and FP&A Manager to deliver group budgets and forecasts.
  • Oversee finance systems and transactional processes, making sure controls and KPIs are robust and effective.
  • Build strong relationships with auditors, lenders, and private equity investors.
  • Support M&A activity, systems development, and wider finance transformation projects.
About you
  • ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with previous Group FC experience in businesses £50m+ revenue.
  • A track record of successfully leading finance teams of 15+ people.
  • Solid technical knowledge: UK GAAP (FRS 102) essential, IFRS desirable.
  • Experience in private equity-backed businesses is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience in management accounting, financial reporting, audit, and cash management.
  • Proven ability to support and deliver change, integrate new systems/processes, and support business growth.
  • Excellent communicator, able to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
