Job description

Malaberg is a multi-brand, direct-to-consumer group operating across beauty and wellness categories. As a vertically integrated company, we manage everything from manufacturing and logistics to e-commerce and customer experience. With active growth across UK and US markets, we are building a future-focused finance function to support group performance, commercial insight, and strategic decision-making.

The Role

We are hiring a Group Financial Controller to lead group-level operational finance across multiple entities. This role is both strategic and hands-on, responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, accurate and timely reporting, and continuous improvement of finance processes and systems. The ideal candidate brings experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency operations, leading audits, and working in fast-paced, scaling environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the finance function across group entities in the UK and internationally
• Oversee monthly management reporting: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and KPI reporting
• Deliver audit-ready year-end statutory accounts and manage external audits and compliance
• Develop, document, and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and process improvements
• Own balance sheet integrity and reconciliations (stock, margin, intercompany, accruals, deferred revenue, etc.)
• Manage VAT, Corporation Tax, FX revaluation processes, and other statutory filings
• Support commercial and operational teams with financial input on contracts, pricing, tenders, and procurement
• Lead or support ERP integrations and other finance system upgrades (e.g., Xero, NetSuite, SAP, Workday)
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and treasury activity, working with external partners as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with at least 5+ years of post-qualified experience
• Experience in a senior finance role within a multi-entity group (DTC, FMCG, or manufacturing a plus)
• Strong background in financial controls, reporting, and compliance across UK ( international jurisdictions experience is aplus)
• Experience leading audits and ERP/process improvements
• Hands-on knowledge of accounting systems such as Workday, SAP, NetSuite, Xero, or similar
• Solid grasp of cash flow management, intercompany transactions, FX, VAT, and global tax processes
• Confident communicator and collaborator, comfortable influencing across non-finance teams
• Detail-oriented with a proactive, process-driven approach and ability to thrive in a scaling business
