The Company

A global organisation is seeking a Group Financial Controller to lead the financial control agenda across its UK & Ireland operations. This is a pivotal role within the senior finance team, ensuring robust compliance, reporting and governance across a regulated and dynamic environment.

• Reports into the Finance & IT Director
• Hybrid working with North West base
• Operates in a complex, regulated sector with international reach

The Role

This role provides strategic oversight and operational leadership across core areas of financial control and compliance.

• Responsible for group balance sheet integrity, statutory accounts, tax, pensions and audit
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP, and local regulatory standards
• Lead external stakeholder relationships including auditors, HMRC, banks and pension trustees
• Manage and develop the Financial Accounting team
• Collaborate with global shared services to ensure accurate and timely delivery
• Drive improvements in internal controls, systems and reporting processes
• Partner with the senior leadership team to align finance with group strategy

The Candidate

• ACA/ACCA qualified, ideally with a practice-trained background
• Significant experience in financial control within complex, multi-entity organisations
• Deep knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and statutory compliance
• Proven track record of leading audits and managing external stakeholders
• Experienced in SAP and core Microsoft tools
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a collaborative, proactive approach
