Job summary

EA-RS, a private equity-backed fire, security and electrical services group near High Wycombe, seeks a Group Finance Controller to lead the core finance team and act as the CFO's deputy on accounting, control and reporting.

You will consolidate across multiple entities, drive project accounting, working capital management and governance, while integrating acquisitions and leading finance teams. A rewarding package reflects the complexity and growth of the group.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA or equivalent and substantial post-qualification experience.
• Proven track record as a Group Financial Controller or senior finance leader.
• Experience in a complex multi-entity business, ideally PE-backed and turnover £50m-£250m.
• Strong consolidation, statutory reporting and audit experience.
• Hands-on style with ability to shape strategy and dive into detail.
• Team builder who drives accountability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Group reporting and control: monthly, quarterly and year-end close across all entities, consolidated accounts, statutory accounts and external audit.
• Project accounting: revenue recognition, WIP and margin reporting across installation, project and maintenance businesses.
• Working capital and treasury: 13-week rolling cash forecast, cash use planning and revolving credit facility management.
• Governance: control framework, VAT and tax compliance, support for board, lender and shareholder reporting.
• Integration: onboarding acquired businesses onto common processes, policies and systems with faster month-end reporting.
• People: lead and develop AP, AR, payroll, management accounts and financial accounts teams.

Help build the finance function behind one of the UK's fastest-growing fire, security and electrical services groups.

EA-RS is a private equity-backed group of around 500 people with turnover of about £96m. Since 2021 we've grown through 11 acquisitions. We're now bringing those businesses together under one brand and one finance platform, built on Sage Intacct.

We're looking for a Group Finance Controller to lead our core finance team and act as the CFO's trusted deputy on accounting, control and reporting.

What you'll lead

• Group reporting and control: monthly, quarterly and year-end close across all entities, consolidated accounts, statutory accounts and the external audit
• Project accounting: consistent revenue recognition, WIP and margin reporting across our installation, project and maintenance businesses
• Working capital and treasury: a 13-week rolling cash forecast, best use of cash and our revolving credit facility, and clear KPIs on debtors, creditors and unbilled revenue
• Governance: a control framework that works for a growing multi-entity group, VAT and tax compliance, and support for board, lender and shareholder reporting
• Integration: bringing acquired businesses onto common processes, policies and systems, with faster and more automated month-end reporting
• People: leading and developing the AP, AR, payroll, management accounts and financial accounts teams

What you'll bring
