Accountancy Recruit is partnering with a Manchester based client to appoint a Group Financial Controller. This role would suit a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Finance Director with a strong technical accounting background and excellent leadership The role will initially be on site but can move to a hybrid model with 2 days working at home. Our client is a service business operating internationally and this is an exciting opportunity to join ahead of continued growth. The Group Financial Controller will have the following experience:
- Oversee the preparation and timely production of accurate monthly management accounts, ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations and divisional central cost allocations are reviewed for accuracy.
- Provide insightful analysis,including monthly variance reporting against budget, prior periods and years, and engage divisional management through regular review meetings.
- Prepare and review corporation tax packs for external advisors, responding to queries and ensuring all tax returns are submitted within statutory deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with all other tax obligations including adherence to international transfer pricing regulations.
- Oversee production and review statutory accounts for UK entities and consolidated group accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statementsand all relevant notes, ensuring completeness and compliance.
- Manage internal and external audit processes across the group and subsidiaries, providing auditors with comprehensive information and ensuring delivery of audited accounts within deadlines.
- Ensure monthly credit line reconciliations and covenant compliance is completed accurately, as well as weekly cash flow forecasting to optimize intercompany cash movements.
- Support the CFO in preparing annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment across multiple divisions and profit centers.
- Maintain awareness of foreign exchange impacts and ensure accurate accounting for international subsidiaries.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to the Board and senior stakeholders as required.
Skills & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)with a strong technical foundation.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance function, with at least 3 years managing a team ofmulti-disciplinary staff.
- Proven experience preparing statutory accounts and group consolidations.
- Strong experience liaising with professional advisors.
- Exposure to international business, multi-currency accounting, and foreign exchange management.
- Experience working in a group with turnover of £100m–£300m.
- Experience in M&A transactions is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
The salary advertised for this role is a guideline, the salary offered will commensurate with experience.
