Job summary

Parkingeye Limited, the leading provider of car park management solutions, is seeking a Group Financial Controller to lead the finance function across the group, overseeing reporting, accounting operations, and controls in a fast‑growing PE‑backed European business.

Reporting to the CFO and PE investors, you will consolidate results, manage tax compliance, lead audits, and drive improvements in processes and systems to support acquisitions and international expansion.

Qualifications

• ACA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• 10+ years of financial experience with extensive technical accounting background (IFRS).
• Experience in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual Group consolidated financial statements in accordance with FRS 102.
• Coordinate with external auditors to sign statutory accounts on schedule.
• Oversee balance sheet integrity and key account reconciliations.
• Lead month-end close with intercompany eliminations and group adjustments.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and documentation of eliminations.
• Oversee group tax compliance and advisory activities (corporation, VAT, withholding tax).
• Provide quarterly Covenant and Investor Reporting.
• Collaborate with Company Secretary on filings and governance.
• Manage Group cashflow and treasury including weekly 13-week cashflow process.
• Oversee banking requirements and utilization requests.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on hedging and derivatives across subsidiaries.
• Participate in ad hoc financial projects, including acquisitions and system implementations.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

Formed in 2004, Private Equity owned Parkingeye, is looking to support customers in both managing their car parks and helping them generate revenues. Parkingeye is the leader in their field of expertise and our growth trajectory is set to high.

The Group Financial Controller will play a critical leadership role within the finance team, responsible for overseeing all financial reporting, accounting operations, and financial controls across the Group. The role will ensure best-in-class financial governance, support private equity reporting requirements, and provide robust financial insights to drive business performance.

The Group Financial Controller will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the Group’s financial reporting and compliance. This position is responsible for consolidating financial results across multiple entities, maintaining compliance with tax and other country regulations, preparing statutory accounts, supporting statutory audits, and contributing to the improvement of group-wide financial processes and controls.

Working closely with the CFO, executive leadership team, and private equity stakeholders, the role will be instrumental in supporting strategic initiatives including acquisitions, international growth, and potential future exit events. This is a hands‑on role suited to an experienced financial professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, PE‑backed environment and enjoys building structure, discipline, and insight in a scaling international business.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare monthly, and annual Group consolidated financial statements in accordance with FRS 102.
• Prepare the annual statutory accounts and coordinate with external auditors during the audit process, ensuring the audit is completed and accounts are signed in line with the reporting timetable.
• Oversee balance sheet integrity and perform reconciliations on key accounts.
• Lead the month‑end close process, ensuring all group adjustments and intercompany eliminations are properly recorded.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and ensure appropriate documentation and elimination entries.
• Manage the group’s tax compliance, reporting, and advisory activities across the Group. Coordinating with tax advisors and local accountants and providing the required information for completion of the tax returns (corporation, VAT, withholding tax, etc.) across the Group.
• Quarterly Covenant and Investor Reporting.
• Liaising with external Company Secretary and ensuring filings are up to date.
• Managing Group cashflow & treasury, manage the weekly 13‑week cashflow process.
• Managing the banking requirements and any utilisation requests.
• Technical accounting for hedging and financial derivatives.
• Provide technical accounting advice and guidance to finance teams across subsidiaries.
• Participate in ad hoc financial projects, including acquisitions, system implementations

Controls, Compliance & Process Improvement

• Strengthen internal controls, governance, and financial systems across the region.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve automation, and enhance reporting accuracy.

Private Equity Engagement

• Work closely with Group CFO and PE investors on financial reporting, banking matters etc.
• Support M&A due diligence and post‑acquisition integration as required.
• Support integration of acquisitions or new territories into the group finance framework.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• ACA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• 10+ years of financial experience with extensive technical accounting background (IFRS).
• Experience in a private equity‑backed or high‑growth environment preferred.
