About our client

This is an exciting opportunity to join a European-focused private debt investor during a period of growth. The newly created Group Financial Accountant role reports directly to the Senior Finance Manager and supports senior management with daily operations of the group finance function. Responsibilities include contributing to the monthly close, preparing statutory accounts, managing relationships with third-party accountants, and supporting junior colleagues in payment processes. The role also involves collaborating with senior stakeholders to improve processes, controls, and implement automation solutions.

What the job involves

  • Support monthly close activities, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting.
  • Prepare statutory accounts and assist with audits, regulatory filings, and tax submissions across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with external accounting providers to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
  • Assist junior team members with core finance operations such as payables, receivables, expenses, and cash management.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting support to senior team members.
  • Contribute to process improvements through system enhancements and automation initiatives.

Who we are looking for

  • Chartered Accountant
  • Experience in financial reporting, consolidations, and preparing statutory accounts
  • Experience in the alternative investment industry is desirable
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with data warehouses and data visualization tools is desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
