Job description

Your new company
Headquartered here in the South West, this well-established charity helps support people across the UK. They are now looking to recruit a Group Financial Accountant in a newly created role to support the Finance Director.

Your new role
This is a really important role for the charity, ensuring successful delivery of all the financial reporting and preparation of statutory accounts for the charity and all of its subsidiaries. This is an influential member of the finance leadership team and will act as a technical expert, helping to provide strategic input to help with decision-making and deputise for the Finance director where required. The role will include:

  • Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and maintain the group's consolidated financial statements
  • Collaborate with the wider finance team to help in its day-to-day running of the finance function.
  • Provide an internal source of VAT expertise
  • Lead and manage the year-end process
  • Participate in budgets and forecasts for the charity
  • Maintain relationships both internally and externally
  • Support the Head of Finance Operations in the development of its systems to ensure they meet the organisation's needs.

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a qualified accountant with a strong technical background who has strong knowledge of charities' VAT returns. You should have strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders across a large organisation. You should have advanced excel skills and be able to influence decision-making.
