Job summary

A mineral exploration and development company in Macclesfield is looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join their team. The role involves preparing financial statements, managing group accounts, and ensuring compliance with tax obligations. Candidates must be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with experience in multi-currency accounting. Strong Excel skills are essential, and familiarity with Sage or similar software is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with international, multi-currency foreign exchange accounting.
• Annual audits and liaising with auditors.
• Experience in producing management accounts and budget forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of Financial Statements and supporting notes for Annual reporting.
• Preparation of statutory accounts including supporting schedules and analysis for Audit.
• Responsibility for the Payroll, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.

Skills

Experience with consolidation of group accounts, particularly those with international subsidiaries

Good, all-round Excel skills

Experience producing management accounts

Experience with international, multi-currency foreign exchange accounting

Education

ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified

Job description

Tertiary Minerals plc is an AIM listed mineral exploration and development company that is looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join the small office-based team in Macclesfield.

Job Specification

• Preparation of Financial Statements and supporting notes for Annual reporting
• Preparation of the statutory accounts including supporting schedules and analysis for Audit
• Reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts
• Preparation of the annual Budgets
• Ensuring the accurate posting of all relevant transactions
• Preparation and production of Management Accounts, including supporting analysis, budget reforecasts and commentary
• Preparation of Interim Accounts and supporting notes at half-year
• Preparation of financial data and supporting documents to enable production of Overseas tax returns and UK Corporation Tax returns
• Submission of ERS data to HMRC
• Preparation of UK Annual Tax returns for multiple companies
• Submission VAT Returns in the UK and Overseas
• Raising inter-company invoices
• Maintaining small fixed asset and depreciation register
• Responsibility for the Payroll, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, including collecting and analysing timesheet information
• Reconciliation of bank and cash accounts

Requirements
