Job description

A highly acquisitive, established media group specialising in marketing and communications is currently seeking their next hire within the team. The role is a Group Financial Accountant position, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller. Responsibilities will include:

  1. Support with the financial management of group entities, including month and year-to-date P&L, balance sheet, and cash flows.
  2. Variance analysis with relevant commentary on budgets and forecasts compared to prior periods.
  3. Research, preparation, and implementation of technical accounting policies across the Group and Agencies where relevant.
  4. Assist in coordinating, developing, and updating written policies and procedures over the financial reporting process.
  5. Support the Group Audit process, regulatory requirements, and management of deliverables across the Group.
  6. Ownership of the intercompany and group reporting/consolidation process.
  7. Support ad hoc M&A and restructuring activities, ensuring efficient integration.
  8. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the group's investment partners and senior management globally.
  9. Perform other ad-hoc duties, project work, and analysis to support the wider team and business.

The ideal candidate will be ACA qualified, preferably from Big 4/Top 10 firms, with some post-qualified experience in industry. Candidates should have prior experience in intercompany transactions, consolidations, and cash flow management within a group finance function—ideally in a multi-national company. You should be well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of building strong stakeholder relationships at all levels.
