A leading recruitment agency in Liverpool is seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join a well-established finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong audit background and at least 3 years of accounting experience. This position offers excellent visibility within the finance team of a well-known business, with responsibility for statutory accounts and financial reporting. A newly qualified ACA/ACCA is preferred.

Job description

Group Financial Accountant Liverpool - up to £55,000 DOE. A fantastic opportunity to join a leading employer in the Liverpool area. My client is ideally looking for a newly-qualified, audit-trained accountant to be based on-site in their well-established finance team.

You will be joining the Group finance function - a fast-paced, dynamic working environment. You will be reporting into the Group Finance Manager and ultimately be responsible for meeting several statutory reporting deadlines throughout the year. This role offers excellent visibility to the wider senior Finance team, including the FD and CFO, and offers a chance to get your foot in the door of a well-known FTSE 250 business.

Key Duties:
  • Involvement with the consolidation process and board pack.
  • Assisting with the production of the preliminary and interim Group accounts.
  • Producing the statutory accounts for each entity in the Group.
  • Liaising with our trading subsidiaries on a regular basis to monitor trends, performance, working capital, cash positions and flagging any areas of concern.
  • Leading on IFRS 16 lease accounting.
  • Assisting with covenant calculations relating to the debt facilities.
  • Dealing with the external auditors, tax specialists, etc.
About You:
  • Minimum of 3 years accounting experience - my client is ideally looking for somebody from a strong audit background - a newly qualified first-time mover out of practice.
  • A quick learner who is eager to further broaden their knowledge and develop their career.
  • Strong organisation skills.
  • Strong work ethic, accountability, and enthusiasm.
  • Newly qualified ACA/ACCA is preferred.
