Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Group Financial Accountant for a 3-month contract starting 1 October. The role supports the Group Finance team through the year-end and audit cycle, coordinating with Deloitte and senior stakeholders to ensure timely statutory reporting.

The ideal candidate will come from a multinational environment with strong IFRS knowledge and external audit experience, capable of working under tight deadlines and across consolidation processes.

Qualifications

• Strong background in financial accounting and statutory reporting
• Experience with external audit
• Experience preparing large and complex financial statements at Group level
• Understanding of IFRS
• ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred (ACA highly desirable)
• Approximately 2-3 years PQE
• Experience in multinational organisations
• Attention to detail under pressure
• Consolidation systems and group reporting experience
• Oracle experience advantageous
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines

Responsibilities

• Prepare notes for the Group's annual financial statements
• Support year-end statutory reporting and ensure timely delivery of outputs
• Act as primary contact for audit queries from Deloitte
• Review and clear management review points in the financial statements
• Liaise with local finance teams regarding period 13 and year-end adjustments
• Monitor year-end timetable and chase outstanding actions
• Assist with consolidation and group reporting
• Provide general support to Group Finance on ad hoc projects

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Group Financial Accountant to join a large, multinational business on an initial 3-month contract, starting 1st October. This is a key role supporting the Group Finance team through a busy year-end and audit period, working closely with senior stakeholders and external auditors to ensure successful delivery of the Group's statutory reporting requirements.

This opportunity would suit a qualified accountant with a strong background in financial accounting, statutory reporting and audit, who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare selected notes for the Group's annual financial statements
• Support the year-end statutory reporting process and ensure timely delivery of key outputs
• Act as a primary contact for audit queries from Deloitte, coordinating responses across the business
• Review and clear management review points within the financial statements
• Liaise with local finance teams regarding period 13 and year-end adjustments
• Monitor the year-end timetable, track progress and proactively chase outstanding actions
• Assist with consolidation and group reporting activities
• Provide general support to the Group Finance team on ad hoc projects and requests

Candidate Requirements

• Strong financial accounting and statutory reporting experience
• Previous external audit experience, either from practice or a heavily audit-facing industry role
• Experience preparing large and complex financial statements, ideally at Group level
• Good understanding of IFRS
• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred (ACA highly desirable)
• Approximately 2-3 years PQE, although candidates with more experience will also be considered
• Experience working within large, multinational organisations
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
• Experience of consolidation systems and group reporting environments
• Oracle system experience would be advantageous
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
