As Finance Director, you will be responsible for the financial leadership of our client's company, supporting the CEO and Board with strategic financial direction and ensuring robust day-to-day financial management. This role blends high-level strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership, playing a key part in our ongoing transformation journey.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director or equivalent senior finance leader, ideally within a multi-entity, service-based group
  • Strategic thinker with a track record in financial planning, scenario modelling, and business partnering at the Board level
  • Hands-on experience with statutory reporting, management accounts, financial control, and cash flow forecasting
  • In-depth knowledge of UK tax planning and compliance, with the ability to shape and lead Group-wide tax strategy
  • Experience delivering finance transformation, including cloud-based system optimisation (e.g. Sage Intacct), automation, and reporting improvements
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, especially through periods of change and growth
  • Skilled in working with external stakeholders (auditors, banks, advisors) and navigating complex group environments
  • Confident and commercially aware communicator, able to influence non-financial stakeholders and support strategic decisions

What will your role look like?

  • Lead the Group’s long-term financial strategy, aligning with commercial objectives and
  • growth targets
  • Oversee all financial operations, including statutory accounts, management reporting, budgeting, and working capital
  • Partner with the Commercial Director to deliver accurate forecasting, performance analysis, and scenario planning
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and reporting processes, ensuring visibility, accuracy and efficiency
  • Embed robust financial governance and risk management frameworks, protecting the business and supporting resilience
  • Lead and develop the finance leadership team, creating a strong culture of accountability, development, and performance
  • Ensure readiness and excellence in external audit and financial compliance, liaising confidently with external stakeholders
  • Lead and evolve a tax strategy that ensures compliance while identifying opportunities for optimisation across all our entities
  • Support the CEO and the Board with timely and insightful financial guidance to aid strategic decision-making
  • Play a central role in the transformation and futureproofing of the finance function, ensuring it is agile, modern and aligned to our evolving needs
