Group Finance Business Partner - IT

Description

Reporting to the Group Services Finance Business Partner, this newly created role will give the successful applicant the opportunity to share in the reshaping of how finance support IT and other central functions to enable them to focus on the core activities that help them drive value for the business.

Due to the rapid growth of the group as a whole, there’s a need to improve processes and reporting to enable more timely and better decision making. Initially the role will have a transformational aspect, using the upcoming migration to a new ERP as the basis to undertake a detailed focus on reviewing existing reporting and building out a suite of reporting and processes in line with the needs of Senior leaders within group IT. This initial work will help to create a blueprint which can be deployed to other central functions as appropriate.

On a day to day basis, the primary objective will be to help IT derive maximum value from relevant MI and strategic support, as well as being a link between the central functions and divisional finance teams to ensure cost is being appropriately budgeted and captured across the business. The role has the scope to broaden as efficiency gains increase the capacity to support other areas.

Your New Role
  • Reshape and transform the existing functional reporting suite for IT.
  • Own and manage the annual and midyear budgeting process and any in year reforecasting from a finance point of view. Provide timely and detailed monthly actuals in line with the needs of the leadership team
  • Work alongside the senior leadership team, procurement and the M&A integration teams to identify potential areas for cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
  • Build strong relationships and work alongside the IT senior leadership team on all aspects of the function that have implication for finance, helping them to align strategies with the overall organisational goals.
  • Support the function alongside the Corporate Development team with acquisition budgets and cost integrations post completion
  • Support the annual Capex and project budgeting cycle, and monthly consolidation of group wide project spend.
  • Work with divisional finance and IT teams to improve the understanding of the nature of any cost allocations between group parties to improve the visibility of group wide IT cost.
  • Build and maintain a detailed understanding of the functions people and non people cost base, as well as any expense that is or is expected to be managed divisionally.
  • Proactively identify and develop initiatives to help support both IT and Finance in the continuous improvement of both functions.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required by IT or the wider finance leadership.
What You'll Bring to the Role
  • Qualified Accountant – CA, CPA, MBA, AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA.
  • A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • A strong commercial mindset with experience in cost accounting in a large global group company.
  • Good communication skills including ability to influence, presenting complex finance information to Executive Leadership and non-finance management.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Experience with Power BI would also be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Hardworking, proactive, curious, adaptable.
  • Excellent time management including meeting deadlines.
