PPG is looking to employ a Group Finance Accountant to join the Group Finance Team at one of the most exciting times. The role involves supporting the Group Finance Team undertake several reporting and strategic initiatives including integration of newly acquired businesses, consolidation, design and implementation of processes and policies across Group, implementation of new accounting standards and new IT systems implementation.
This is a very exciting role and will give the successful candidate significant exposure to senior stakeholders across the Group and within the UK and Continental Europe, with an opportunity to learn and develop.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Finance teams and other stakeholders in the UK and Continental Europe
• Support the collation and consolidation of weekly, monthly and quarterly management reports for senior stakeholders on a timely basis
• Assist in month end, quarterly and year end closing process of the Group accounts, working with teams across the Group
• Support the accurate and timely preparation of the annual financial statements for Group entities and the consolidated Group accounts in line with Group policies and relevant regulatory requirements
• Undertake core finance operations including transactional processing, ledger maintenance, accounts payable processes, etc.
• Build relationships and work with several external stakeholders including auditors, consultants, bankers, regulators and other third parties
• To act to deliver good outcomes for retail customers whilst delivering a higher standard of customer care and enabling consumers to make effective decisions in their interests
• Part-qualified accountant with at least some experience in a similar level role
• Good accounting knowledge and strong in IFRS and UK GAAP
• Demonstrable technical and professional experience in a similar level role
• Strong integrity, with a high sense of independence and accountability.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Proficient in MS Office Suite Applications (MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• Ability to work with teams across the Group (UK and Continental Europe)

Successful Candidates Will Have

Required Skills and Work Experience;

• Fully/Part-qualified accountant with experience in a similar job
• Good accounting knowledge and strong in IFRS and UK GAAP
• Good accounting knowledge and strong in IFRS and UK GAAP
• Proficient in MS Office Suite Applications (MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• Strong integrity, with a high sense of independence and accountability.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Ability to work with teams across the Group (UK and Continental Europe)
