NHS Jobs in Hampshire is seeking a dedicated Group Facilitator Recovery Worker to join our Inclusion team, delivering a bespoke group work programme at Winchester and New Forest sites.

The role is full-time, 37.5 hours weekly, with training, risk assessment, and involvement in service user forums and co-production, across West of Hampshire.

Qualifications

  • Foundation Degree/HNC in related field such as counselling, social work, nursing or psychology.
  • Experience of working in the drug and alcohol field.
  • Experience in facilitating groups or programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement and deliver groups across Winchester and New Forest hubs.
  • Audit and peer support for group facilitators; accept referrals and assess needs.
  • Provide harm reduction info and support on safer drug use and related areas.
  • Make home visits when needed and coordinate with multi-disciplinary colleagues.
  • Deliver structured psycho-social interventions including CBT-based approaches.
  • To provide structured psycho-social interventions including CBT-based brief solution-focused therapy and motivational enhancement techniques.
  • Encourage service user involvement and ensure safeguarding and mental health needs are met.

Job description

Are you committed to making a positive change and empowering service users to achieve a better quality of life? Are you a skilled groupwork facilitator looking to support people in their recovery journey?

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, caring individual to join our teams within Inclusion Recovery Hampshire, a drug and alcohol treatment and support service.

We are currently recruiting an experienced group work facilitator, working alongside a teams of experienced Recovery Workers across our Winchester and New Forest sites.

The role may involve occasionally covering for other group facilitators in Hampshire, as well as supporting the hub Recovery Workers based on service need.

We have a bespoke structured group work programme which the Group Facilitator will be responsible for delivering, as well as additional groups based on the needs of clients - this can include SMART groups, auricular acupuncture, mindfulness, meditation and substance specific groups. The successful candidate will be provided with relevant training to support the facilitation of groups and will be a key part of our quality assurance processes around groups; participating in groupwork audits, providing peer to peer feedback to other facilitators and co-facilitating groups with others.

The post holder will take an active role in facilitating service user forums and championing co-production, ensuring service users feel heard and that lived experience shapes service delivery and improvement

Main duties of the job

Full-time permanent Group Facilitator Recovery Worker (working 37.5 hours per week) across the West of Hampshire (New Forest and Winchester).

Group facilitation in Inclusion Winchester and New Forest Hubs.Referral and implementation of groups (structured and unstructured)

Job responsibilities

  • To plan, implement and deliver groups in Winchester and New Forest.
  • To participate in auditing and peer support for group facilitatorsTo accept referrals, assess need and make appropriate recommendations as part as a robust duty system.
  • Provide harm reduction advice, information and support with an emphasis on safer drug use, safer sex, HIV, Hepatitis A,B and C and other blood borne infections
  • To make home visits consistent with need.
  • To carry out comprehensive assessments, construct care packages with multi disciplinary colleagues where required
  • To provide a range of structured psycho-social interventions including CBT based brief solution focused therapy and motivational enhancement techniques.
  • Demonstrable commitment to service user involvement.
  • To work with a range of professional in ensuring service users needs in terms of safeguarding and mental health are met.
  • Encourage and work with service users to move forward in their recovery

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Foundation Degree/HNC in related field which may include counselling, social work, nursing, psychology, social studies
Experience
  • Experience of working in the drug and alcohol field
  • Experience in facilitating groups or programmes
  • Solid understanding of safeguarding and risk management
Other
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use (travelling between sites in the course of the role)
Skills
  • A commitment to, and understanding of, harm reduction & recovery approaches when working with people who use Drug and Alcohol
  • Strong communication skills, including motivational and trauma-informed approaches
