Job summary

Virgin Active in Northampton seeks an experienced Fitness Instructor to lead group classes and deliver Virgin Active’s signature programmes. You will coach teams, participate in QA assessments, and support programming development while wearing Virgin Active branding.

You will work closely with the Head of Exercise Experience to coach staff, integrate PR/marketing initiatives, and build member engagement across the club.

Qualifications

• Require Level 2 fitness instructor or ETM Level 2 qualification plus Aqua or Zumba.
• Experience delivering group fitness in the formats you teach.
• Athlete and performer with ability to design and deliver programs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classes across Northampton and Collection clubs with a following.
• Receive coaching and feedback through quality assurance assessments.
• Deliver signature programme in Virgin Active brand wear or uniform.
• Deliver training for specialized areas (after 3–6 months).
• Assist Head of Exercise Experience with quality assurance and live assessments as needed.
• Collaborate with Head of Exercise Experience to coach and give feedback to team members.
• Contribute to programming development and refreshes.
• Collaborate with Head Office and club teams on PR and marketing strategies.
• Establish and manage your social media profile per guidelines.

Key Responsibilities ‘A Day in your Work Life’

• Personally deliver classes across London & Collection clubs with the uniqueness that’s given you a following.
• Receive 1-to-1 coaching and feedback through quality assurance assessments.
• Deliver signature programme in VA brand wear or uniform.
• Deliver training for specialized areas (once in role at least 3–6 months).
• Assist Head of Exercise Experience with quality assurance and live assessments when necessary.
• Partner with Head of Exercise Experience to give team members coaching and performance feedback when appropriate.
• Contribute to programming development and refreshes.
• Partner with Head Office, Regional Group Exercise Managers and club teams on Public Relations and Marketing strategies.
• Establish and manage your social media profile in accordance with company guidelines and policy.

What success looks like (Key Accountabilities and KPIs)

We require a level 2 fitness instructor qualification or ETM exercise to music level 2 qualification in addition to the aqua or zumba qualification.

• Maintain minimum 75% class occupancy
• Score 80% or better in quality assurance assessment
