Job summary

Virgin Active in London seeks an experienced Exercise Leader to deliver group fitness classes across our clubs, embodying our values and brand. You’ll design programs, run sessions, and maintain a minimum 75% class occupancy while upholding quality standards.

You’ll work non-traditional hours, earn trust with members, and collaborate with the Head of Exercise Experience to coach teams and develop engaging experiences across Virgin Active venues.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Fitness or recognised instructor qualification required.
• First aid certification required.
• Able to work non-traditional schedule and evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver group fitness classes across London & Collection clubs.
• Provide 1-to-1 coaching and quality assurance feedback.
• Deliver signature Virgin Active programmes in brand wear/uniform.
• Assist with quality assurance and live assessments when needed.
• Collaborate with Heads of Exercise Experience to coach team members.

Key Responsibilities ‘A Day in your Work Life’

• Personally deliver classes across London & Collection clubs with the uniqueness that’s given you a following.
• Receive 1-to-1 coaching and feedback through quality assurance assessments.
• Deliver signature programme in VA brand wear or uniform.
• Deliver training for specialized areas (once in role at least 3–6 months).
• Assist Head of Exercise Experience with quality assurance and live assessments when necessary.
• Partner with Head of Exercise Experience to give team members coaching and performance feedback when appropriate.
• Contribute to programming development and refreshes.
• Partner with Head Office, Regional Group Exercise Managers and club teams on Public Relations and Marketing strategies.
• Establish and manage your social media profile in accordance with company guidelines and policy.

What success looks like (Key Accountabilities and KPIs)

• You have your Level 3 in Fitness (or recognised instructor qualification), your first aid and flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule.
• Maintain minimum 75% class occupancy
• Score 80% or better in quality assurance assessment
