North Yorkshire Council is seeking enthusiastic Group Exercise Instructors to support the health and wellbeing of local communities across Tadcaster and Selby Leisure Centres. The roles are zero-hour, with class cover across both sites and a market supplement to attract flexible workers.
You will lead sessions from Spin to Yoga, tailor classes for all abilities, and promote a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.

We are looking for enthusiastic Group Exercise Instructors to provide classes at both our Tadcaster and Selby Leisure and Wellbeing Hubs.
This role is a zero hour contract, you will be used as class cover options across both Selby and Tadcaster Leisure Centre and Wellness Hubs.+
The basic salary for this post is £17.85 to £19.81 per hour, plus a market supplement of £11.54 per hour, providing an hourly salary package of up to £31.35 per hour.
We are looking to grow our Group Exercise programme within the local communities at both our Tadcaster and Selby Leisure Centres. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivating instructors who can encourage and inspire participants through fun, energetic, and inclusive classes across a range of different forms from Spin to Yoga.
You will deliver high-quality, engaging sessions tailored to suit both newcomers and long-time attendees, creating a welcoming environment where individuals of all abilities can enjoy themselves, build confidence, and stay active.

Several sites have already moved to “Active North Yorkshire”, and our team’s focus is to help provide support in sport and wellbeing excellence to our local communities. We are currently operating 16 Leisure and Wellbeing facilities, increasing to 22 in 2027 when the former Ryedale and Scarborough council areas join.

You need the ability to work effectively as part of a team and a good understanding of customer care. However, you would also need to show that you:
An Enhanced DBS is required should you wish to lead a junior group fitness activity, the cost of which will be covered by North Yorkshire Council.
