Inspire Education Group (IEG) is seeking a dynamic and proactive Group EDI & Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team at our vibrant Peterborough and Stamford Campuses. This is a fantastic chance to play a pivotal role in shaping a more equitable and inclusive future for our staff, students, and the wider community.
About The Role
As our Group EDI & Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be at the forefront of driving positive change. Reporting to the Assistant Principal, Student Experience, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating our EDI strategy and community engagement projects across the entire group. This is a diverse and rewarding role where you will:
Champion EDI: Lead the implementation of our EDI strategy, proactively advise on all aspects of equality, diversity, and inclusion, and ensure our policies and procedures are inclusive and up-to-date.
Drive Engagement: Develop engaging communication strategies, coordinate impactful EDI events, and maintain accessible resources for staff and students.
Build Bridges: Forge strong relationships with external community partners, lead our engagement with Peterborough Citizens, and facilitate student-led community actions.
Promote Best Practice: Stay informed on national and local EDI initiatives, represent IEG in relevant forums, and seek opportunities for recognition and awards.
Empower Others: Advise on and coordinate EDI training for staff, governors, and community leaders.
Collaborate for Success: Work closely with colleagues across the group, including Quality teams and Marketing, to embed EDI principles in all we do.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual with:
Educated to Level 3 in a relevant subject.
Strong IT skills (ECDL, CLAIT or equivalent working knowledge).
Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English Language and Maths Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).
Proven experience in carrying out administration tasks and processes.
Project management and event planning experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and handle sensitive information with confidentiality and respect.
A proactive approach to EDI and a commitment to equality of opportunity and inclusive learning.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with excellent planning and organisational skills.
A valid UK driving license and the ability to travel on Group business.
Desirable (but Not Essential)
Experience of working in an EDI role.
Experience of producing communications resources.
Understanding of EDI legislation, protected characteristics, and best practices.
Knowledge of the post-16 education and training sector.
Lived experience of challenges related to diversity or the ability to perspective-take.
