Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a visionary leader to join our senior leadership team as Group Director – Social Care & Wellbeing. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across Adult Social Care, Children’s Services, Public Health, and Wellbeing.
THE VACANCY
Group Director for Social Care & Wellbeing
Hours: Full time
Contract: Permanent
Salary:Up to £155,000 per annum plus benefits
Location: Dudley
Key Responsibilities
- Modernise services and lead transformation at pace.
- Ensure care, protection, and support for the most vulnerable.
- Oversee major improvement programmes and lead high-performing teams.
- Maintain grip on statutory duties, financial sustainability, and assurance.
- Champion ethical leadership, innovation, and data-informed decision-making across:-
- Adult Social Care (DASS)
- Children and Young People (DCS)
- Public Health (DPH)
- Transformation and integration across the health and care system
- Council-wide Improvement Programme and new operating model
