Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a visionary leader to join our senior leadership team as Group Director – Social Care & Wellbeing. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across Adult Social Care, Children’s Services, Public Health, and Wellbeing.

THE VACANCY

Group Director for Social Care & Wellbeing

Hours: Full time

Contract: Permanent

Salary:Up to £155,000 per annum plus benefits

Location: Dudley

Key Responsibilities

  • Modernise services and lead transformation at pace.
  • Ensure care, protection, and support for the most vulnerable.
  • Oversee major improvement programmes and lead high-performing teams.
  • Maintain grip on statutory duties, financial sustainability, and assurance.
  • Champion ethical leadership, innovation, and data-informed decision-making across:-
  • Adult Social Care (DASS)
  • Children and Young People (DCS)
  • Public Health (DPH)
  • Transformation and integration across the health and care system
  • Council-wide Improvement Programme and new operating model
