Job description

Social network you want to login/join with:

Are you passionate about supporting people to break the cycle of reoffending and build a better future? We're working with a forward-thinking justice services provider to recruit a Group Delivery Trainer to play a vital role within a transformational prison-based programme.

This is more than just a job — it’s a chance to be part of a service that helps some of the most marginalised individuals in society take meaningful steps toward rehabilitation and resettlement.

As a Group Delivery Trainer, you’ll work closely with participants within a custodial environment to deliver structured, engaging group sessions and personalised one-to-one support. This role is based on the CFO Evolution Programme, a nationally recognised initiative that helps individuals in custody develop skills, improve confidence, and move closer to employment or training opportunities upon release.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Facilitating high-quality group sessions in line with an established timetable and learning framework.
  • Building meaningful relationships with participants to foster trust, motivation, and long-term engagement.
  • Providing one-to-one guidance, coaching, and mentoring tailored to each individual’s journey.
  • Supporting participants to address barriers such as mental health, substance misuse, or a lack of qualifications or work experience.
  • Monitoring progress, recording outcomes, and setting achievable development objectives.
  • Collaborating with prison staff and partner agencies to ensure seamless wraparound support.
  • Championing a trauma-informed and person-centred approach in every interaction.

What We're Looking For:

We’re seeking someone with both professional competence and personal empathy — someone who can balance the structure of delivery with the adaptability to meet participants where they are.

  • Experience working with people who have been in custody or marginalised from mainstream services.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a non-judgemental and approachable manner.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging group sessions that meet learning or personal development goals.
  • Good organisational and IT skills, with the ability to monitor progress and maintain accurate records.
  • A genuine desire to help people turn their lives around.
  • A recognised qualification in Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG), teaching, training, or coaching.
  • Knowledge of desistance theory and the criminal justice system.
  • Experience working within a prison or probation environment.
  • Familiarity with local and national training, education, and employment opportunities.

What’s in It for You:

  • A meaningful role where you’ll directly impact people’s futures.
  • Full support with onboarding, safeguarding training, and DBS checks.
  • An inclusive and accessible recruitment process – including reasonable adjustments if required.
  • Commitment to flexible working and a values-led culture.
  • Opportunities for personal and professional development.

We Welcome All Applicants:

The client are proud to support the Ban the Box campaign and are committed to fair recruitment practices. Applications are actively encouraged from individuals with lived experience of the justice system, as well as from candidates from underrepresented backgrounds. A guaranteed interview scheme is available for applicants with disabilities or from ethnic minority communities who meet the essential criteria.

If you're driven by purpose and want to be part of someone’s turning point — we’d love to hear from you.
