Hours: Full-time

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time at one of our office sites.

About this opportunity:

As a CASS Assistant Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in monitoring, delivering and improving on the service we give to our clients. Key to success will be your ability to apply your knowledge and understanding of the FCA’s Client Assets (CASS) rules to our business.

This role is within the Group CASS Control office team. The Group Client Asset (CASS) Control Office provide oversight and subject matter expertise within the Group for CASS activities. CASS activities are those which relate to client money and/or custody assets held for customers. The team works with business units to ensure we adhere to regulation in protecting our customers assets. The team operates in an agile, flexible way, with key hubs in Edinburgh, Leeds and London.

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Carrying out oversight of operational activities. This will include reviewing business controls, CASS breaches and maintaining key CASS regulatory information.
  2. Supporting and coordinating audit activities and reviews by both internal and external parties.
  3. Preparation and review of regulatory reporting (CMAR) for CASS regulated business entities.
  4. Supporting with the writing and review of CASS policies and procedures across different entities.
  5. Preparation and presentation of MI packs for CASS Committees and FNZ Oversight meetings.
  6. Developing your knowledge of the Group in an area of key regulatory focus.

What you'll need:

  1. In-depth knowledge of FCA’s CASS rule requirements: Thorough understanding of the Financial Conduct Authority's Client Assets Sourcebook (CASS) rules and their application to regulated investment services businesses.
  2. Attention to detail: Precision in reviewing business controls, regulatory reports, and audit findings to ensure compliance and identify discrepancies.
  3. Team collaboration skills: Ability to work effectively with various internal and external stakeholders, including business units, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: Strong skills in Excel for data analysis, preparation of management information (MI) packs, and regulatory reporting.
  5. Organisational and prioritisation skills: Efficient management of multiple tasks and deadlines, including prioritising work and supporting audit activities without constant supervision.
  6. Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to prepare and present reports, policies, and procedures clearly and concisely.
