What is the role?

We are recruiting for a Group Carbon and Sustainability Reporting Manager to join our Group Sustainability team. Reporting to the Group Sustainability Director, the role focuses on:

  1. Supporting the business in delivering our Carbon Transition Plan.
  2. Managing sustainability data capture and reporting.

The role involves interaction across all group functions, operating businesses, and external stakeholders. Candidates should have relevant experience in sustainability, preferably within the construction sector or similar industries.

Primary Responsibilities
Delivering our carbon transition plans
  • Collaborate with the Group Sustainability Director and other functions to deliver Net Zero Carbon strategies and Transition Plans.
  • Track, analyse, and report on performance against carbon targets, including modeling emissions profiles for scopes 1, 2, and 3.
  • Provide expertise on whole life and embodied carbon measurement frameworks, tools, and standards.
  • Facilitate annual GHG reporting, ensuring data quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Support business units in carbon reduction initiatives and supply chain engagement.
  • Prepare TCFD reports and support climate risk assessments.
Sustainability data management and reporting
  • Manage and enhance sustainability data collection systems at the group level.
  • Produce internal and external sustainability performance reports.
  • Oversee assurance activities for non-financial metrics and internal controls.
  • Gather information for disclosures, ESG ratings, CDP submissions, and benchmarking.
What experience do I need?
  • Relevant sustainability experience, especially in construction or reporting fields.
  • Experience in carbon management, net zero strategies, and transition planning within the building/construction sector.
  • Knowledge of scope 3 reporting, whole life, and embodied carbon measurement tools and standards.
  • Expertise in sustainability data management, collection systems, and quality assurance.
  • Ability to interpret data and produce high-quality reports for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks, ESG indices, and CDP.
  • Relevant degree in sustainability, environmental economics, finance, data management, or related fields.
  • Strong attention to detail, computer literacy, and proficiency in Excel and sustainability software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, adaptable to various audiences.
  • Ability to work productively in a hybrid work environment.
