Job summary

Orbit Group is seeking an Assistant Accountant - Group to support the Group Accountant with accurate financial information, accruals and month-end processes in our Coventry-based finance team.

You'll handle journals, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany settlements and help maintain the group balance sheet tracker while building relationships across the business. AAT qualification or equivalent and strong Excel skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified or equivalent (part qualified preferred).
• Strong IT literacy with advanced Excel skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy.
• Clear communication with customers.
• Experience in setting up and linking Excel spreadsheets.
• Able to multitask effectively.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of accruals, prepayments and journals.
• Ownership and reconciliation of key balance sheet control accounts.
• Maintain the group balance sheet tracker ensuring accuracy and timely deadlines.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly salary and oncosts reports for the group.
• Prepare monthly intercompany settlements for the group and subsidiaries with Treasury & Cashbook teams.
• Support the group accountant with month and year end processes.
