Our client, a global private equity firm, are looking for a talented Group Assistant Accountant to join their London team. The successful candidate will be actively studying towards an accounting qualification and have 2+ years experience in a finance function. This role requires 5 days in the office.

Description

The responsibilities for this Group Assistant Accountant role include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Oversee bank transactions and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of intercompany transactions for UK entities.
  • Help prepare Group VAT and tax returns.
  • Assist with management of employee expense management system.
  • Contribute to process improvement and the enhancement of financial controls.
  • Answer any ad-hoc queries and support the wider finance team.

Skills

The skills for this Group Assistant Accountant role include, but are not limited to:

  • Actively studying towards and passed exams for an accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 2+ years experience.
  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Experience of preparing financial statements for audit (desirable).
  • Proficiency in Excel (essential).
  • Strong communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workload.
