Global Accounting Network has partnered with a well-established Energy Business, as an exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Group Accountant to join this company's finance team. This role offers the chance to work on impactful projects, including the preparation of financial statements, M&A accounting, and IFRS compliance. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring high-quality reporting and will have the opportunity to drive process improvements and automation within the financial consolidation framework. Skills/experience required:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in a Big 4 audit firm, specializing in areas such as energy businesses, international large-scale companies, or financial instruments and hedge accounting under IFRS 9.
- Excellent knowledge of IFRS, including business segments, consolidation, and group accounting.
- Strong understanding of business processes and controls, with the ability to analyze and optimize processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP/ERP (S/4 HANA) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Highly motivated, independent, and proactive individual with strong analytical skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with diverse stakeholders.
- Fluency in both German and English is essential.

Main responsibilities:- Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly financial statements for the group, including notes and management reports, ensuring quality and timeliness.
- Review and validate reporting data for accuracy and completeness, making necessary consolidation entries.
- Deliver high-quality reporting to shareholders and other stakeholders.
- Oversee financial instrument and hedge accounting disclosures.
- Manage reporting requests and requirements from internal teams and auditors.
- Handle the accounting of M&A projects within the consolidated financial statements.
- Develop and maintain corporate guidelines and ensure compliance with IFRS updates.
- Provide training and updates on group accounting policies to subsidiaries and internal units.
- Enhance and maintain financial consolidation software and reporting automation processes.
- Conduct training sessions on specialized topics related to group accounting.
