Group Accountant (12-Month FTC)
Location: Hatfield (Hybrid, 3 days remote per week)

Are you a newly qualified accountant looking to take the next step in your career? This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established UK business as a Group Accountant, where you'll gain valuable exposure to group consolidation, statutory reporting, management reporting, and audit.

Reporting directly to the Financial Reporting Manager, this role will put you at the heart of the finance function - giving you responsibility for group-wide financial reporting, oversight of controls, and the chance to partner with senior stakeholders across the business.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract that offers breadth, challenge, and the opportunity to grow your technical and leadership skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing consolidated financial statements and entity accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Leading on quarterly reporting, including preparing group dashboards and commentary.
  • Managing intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
  • Coordinating the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors.
  • Identifying process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Line managing a Part Qualified Accountant, providing review, guidance, and support.
  • Playing a key role in project-managing regulatory reporting processes.
Requirements
  • Recently qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / ACMA) looking to build on strong technical foundations.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator, able to challenge, influence, and build positive working relationships.
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset, able to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
