Person Specification
A highly motivated, financially technical individual with a flexible approach and excellent communication and analytical skills. Enjoys a hands-on approach and can adapt quickly to a changing environment. An eye for detail and the ability to challenge are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake a centralised Group Finance role, including:
- Consolidation of the monthly Group accounts and preparation of the monthly Group Board Papers, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow positions, key KPIs, and supporting commentary.
- Understand, manage, and control Group finance models and templates, liaising with operating companies when issues arise.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual Group Budget.
- Assist with the preparation of Group Annual and Interim Financial Statements.
- Prepare statutory accounts for all subsidiary companies and liaise with auditors.
- Assist in determining interim and year-end Corporation Tax provisions and computations.
- Control the review and submission of statutory filings and ensure payments to HMRC for VAT, PAYE, PSA, and P11Ds.
- Monitor divisional compliance with accounting standards and Group policies.
- Implement new or updated IFRS accounting standards across the Group.
- Participate in various ad hoc projects, including potential acquisitions.
- Produce, implement, and update financial control policies and procedures as necessary.
Skills & Experience Required:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified candidates.
- Strong understanding of current IFRS, FRS101, and FRS102 standards.
- Experience in group consolidation and statutory reporting.
- Knowledge of Corporation Tax, VAT, and PAYE is beneficial.
- Highly proficient in computer skills, especially Excel.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and rapport-building skills at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of working under tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel within the UK if necessary.
