Job description

Group Accountant

A Local Authority in Hertfordshire is looking to appoint a talented Group Accountant on an Interim basis, and is working with Spencer Clarke Group to find a successful candidate.

What's on offer:

  • Rates: £45 - £57.26 per hour, inside IR35.

*Negotiable based on experience

  • Hybrid Working
  • Contract type: Contract (37 hrs a week)
  • Hours: 09:00 - 17:00

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to provide financial advice and guidance for a range of services across the council, supporting key financial processes to enable sound financial management of the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a small team delivering expert financial services to budget holders and staff.
  • Ensure that processes and procedures are adhered to with respect to the financial administration of the organisation's affairs.

About you:
You will have the following experience:

  • Experience of working in local government finance.
  • Experience in the provision of high-level financial advice to senior officers.
