Job summary

A leading company in the oil & gas industry is looking for a Group Reporting Accountant for an interim role in London. This 6-month contract offers the opportunity to lead statutory accounting and enhance financial reporting processes. Ideal candidates will have a professional accounting qualification and experience in financial reporting, preferably with a BIG 4 background.

Business Manager at Simpson Judge - Interim Finance - London

Group Reporting Accountant | London

This is an exciting opportunity to join a company experiencing significant growth in the oil & gas industry.

Hybrid working - 3 days in the office (initially primarily office hours)

This role is initially a 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension beyond 12 months.

Ideally, the candidate should be available to start within the next 4 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and financial support for the delivery of statutory accounts.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, supporting the audit process from planning to completion.
• Participate in implementing and improving financial reporting systems and processes.
• Support the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure timely and accurate quarterly shareholder reporting and handle additional shareholder requests.
• Perform ad hoc financial tasks and support the Head of Group Reporting as needed.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA) is required.
• At least 4 years of experience in financial reporting, with exposure to group reporting, preferably with BIG 4 experience.
• Experience in the oil & gas sector is advantageous.
• Deep knowledge of IFRS and strong technical accounting skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and developing analytical tools to optimize reports.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and collaborative environments.
