Job summary

Ridgeway & Co is recruiting an experienced Groundworks Site Manager to lead day-to-day groundworks on a Takley, Essex site for a long-term project.

You will coordinate subcontractors, labour, plant and material deliveries, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification. The role requires excellent leadership, planning and communication, with reporting to the Project Manager and a strong focus on health & safety and QA compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Groundworks Site Manager on residential or infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• Valid UK driving licence and site safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Managing all day-to-day groundworks operations on site.
• Coordinating subcontractors, labour, plant and material deliveries.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification.
• Conducting daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inspections.
• Monitoring progress and reporting to the Project Manager.
• Maintaining health & safety and quality control standards.
• Liaising with clients, engineers and the wider project team.
• Managing site documentation, permits and RAMS compliance.
• Ensuring works comply with drawings, specifications and programme.

Groundworks Site Manager

Location: Takley, Essex

Rate: £300 - £330 per day

Contract: Long-Term

Ridgeway & Co are currently recruiting for an experienced Groundworks Site Manager to join a leading groundworks contractor on a long-term project based in Takley, Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering a large-scale groundworks package from the early stages through to completion, with a strong pipeline of future work.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing all day-to-day groundworks operations on site
• Coordinating subcontractors, labour, plant and material deliveries
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification
• Conducting daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inspections
• Monitoring progress and reporting to the Project Manager
• Maintaining the highest standards of health & safety and quality control
• Liaising with clients, engineers and the wider project team
• Managing site documentation, permits and RAMS compliance
• Ensuring works comply with project drawings, specifications and programme requirements

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Groundworks Site Manager
• Strong knowledge of drainage, foundations, roads, infrastructure and external works
• Experience working on residential or infrastructure groundworks projects
• SMSTS
• CSCS Card
• First Aid at Work
• Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
