Groundworks Health & Safety Lead

Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their HSQE team, with a strong background in groundworks, RC frames and civil engineering, available to start as soon as possible.

The ideal candidate will conduct independent site safety inspections, engage with site management teams, and provide practical health and safety support while driving standards and compliance with CDM 2015 and related legislation across London and the Home Counties.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Health & Safety Manager/Senior Advisor role within groundworks, RC frame, or civil engineering.
• Strong understanding of hazards in excavation, temporary works, lifting, buried services, plant operations, drainage, deep excavations and demolition interfaces.
• Experience conducting site safety inspections, audits, behavioural observations, and accident investigations.
• Confidently challenge poor standards while building positive relationships with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, Site Managers and Supervisors.
• Practical, solutions-focused approach to improving standards beyond policing compliance.
• Excellent knowledge of CDM 2015 and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Responsibilities

• Assist with incident investigations and produce concise reports.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and drive improvements across projects.
