Job summary

Bridgebank Ltd in Leeds is seeking a skilled Groundworker for a full-time on-site role. You will perform a range of groundworks tasks including excavation, drainage, foundations and concrete works, while operating or assisting with plant and equipment and maintaining safety on site.

The ideal candidate will have practical groundworks experience, the ability to read basic drawings, and strong teamwork. A CSCS card is preferred and extended hours may be required to meet project needs.

Qualifications

• Practical groundworks experience including excavation, drainage, foundations and concrete works.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and assist with plant and equipment; CPCS/NPORS tickets desirable.
• Strong understanding of site health and safety standards, safe systems of work and risk assessments.
• Capability to read and follow basic site drawings, levels and instructions from supervisors.
• Reliable team-working skills, good communication and proactive problem-solving on site.
• CSCS card or equivalent construction safety certification preferred.
• Previous experience in civil engineering or groundworks contracting is beneficial.
• Physical fitness suitable for outdoor, manual work in varying weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work to project schedules, including occasional extended hours if required.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Groundworker role based in Leeds. The Groundworker will carry out a variety of tasks, including slabbing , kerbing and all stage 2 finishing works and utility services. Daily responsibilities include operating or assisting with plant and equipment, setting out work areas, laying concrete and sub-bases, and supporting infrastructure and surfacing works. The role requires adherence to health and safety procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and collaborating with site supervisors, engineers, and other trades to meet project timelines. The Groundworker will contribute to quality workmanship, problem-solving on site, and efficient delivery of civil engineering and groundworks contracts.
