Job summary

Bauer Media Outdoor in Birmingham is seeking a Groundworker to join our Kings Norton Depot. You will travel to sites in the Midlands and work on groundwork for steel structures and digital advertising screens, reading technical drawings to set out lines and levels.

You’ll cast mass concrete foundations, excavate and trench, and finish groundworks using topsoil/landscaping or paving materials. A company van is provided and occasional nights away may be required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in excavation works.
• NRSWA qualified.
• Traffic Management knowledge and correct procedures.
• Understanding of Construction Design and Management regulations 2015.
• Experience with working at height – use of ladders, scaffolding and MEMPs.
• Use of power tools such as hydraulic breakers, disc saws and grinders.
• Ability to problem solve on construction issues with initiative.
• Identification of underground services using CAT scanning.
• Excavation and sub-structure knowledge.
• HSG47 working knowledge.
• Competent in machinery use.
• EUSR Utility Excavations 1-5I and SSSTS training advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage workload within agreed timescales.
• Maintain a safe site in line with RAMS and CDM.
• Report near misses, accidents or incidents on site.
• Adhere to Construction Design and Management regulations 2015.
• Know live and dead procedures.
• Operate machinery such as a CAT and Jenny.
• Have knowledge of network and PU drawings.
