Job summary

Palmer Construction is offering a Groundworker Apprenticeship in Doncaster, providing hands-on site experience while you learn. You will work on ground preparation, foundation-related tasks, and drainage installation, with structured training and progression opportunities.

The apprenticeship includes completing the Level 2 Groundworker Apprenticeship Standard at CP Assessments Training Centre in Denaby Main, Doncaster, with block-release sessions every 10–12 weeks.

Qualifications

• Enrolment in Level 2 Groundworker Apprenticeship, with on-site training.
• Basic maths and English to Functional Skill level 2 or equivalent.
• Good physical fitness and willingness to learn on a construction site.

Responsibilities

• Groundworking: marking out and digging shallow trenches for foundations.
• Form working: erecting/dismantling shuttering for concrete setting.
• Install drainage and manholes as part of site works.
• Concreting tasks under supervision.
• Minor road work including kerbs and paving.
• Use of hand tools and small plant machinery.
