Job summary

18 Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Groundworker for a permanent role in a social housing repairs and maintenance team. You will carry out external works, paving, drainage, fencing, and reinstatement across occupied and void properties, with a company van and fuel card provided.

You will work to high standards, manage workload independently, maintain records, and deliver excellent service to tenants.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Groundworker within repairs and maintenance.
• Experience working within social housing is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of groundwork and external maintenance activities.
• Ability to carry out fencing, paving, drainage, concreting, and reinstatement works.
• Experience operating small plant and equipment is advantageous.
• Must possess own basic trade tools.
• Full clean UK driving licence
• Clean DBS check
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced Groundworker looking for a secure, long-term opportunity within the social housing sector? We are seeking a skilled and reliable Groundworker to join a busy repairs and maintenance team carrying out external works, repairs, and property improvements across occupied and void social housing properties.

This is a permanent position offering a company van, fuel card, and the opportunity to work for a well-established organisation with consistent work and excellent job security.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of external repairs and maintenance works within social housing properties
• Complete paving, flagging, and pathway repairs
• Install and repair fencing, gates, posts, and boundary structures
• Carry out drainage repairs, maintenance, and excavation works
• Undertake concreting, kerbing, and reinstatement works
• Repair damaged footpaths, access routes, and communal areas
• Complete groundwork associated with property refurbishments and improvement programmes
• Carry out excavation and trenching works as required
• Install and repair external drainage systems and gullies
• Undertake minor brickwork, slabbing, and landscaping works
• Maintain safe and tidy working areas at all times
• Ensure all works are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
• Accurately complete job sheets and maintenance records
• Deliver excellent customer service when working around tenants and residents
