Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is partnering with a highly regarded independent school in West London to recruit an experienced Groundsperson. You will maintain extensive grounds, sports facilities, and outdoor spaces to an exceptional standard, supporting pupils and staff throughout the year.

The role involves managing sports pitches and AstroTurf, operating and maintaining groundskeeping machinery, and implementing seasonal maintenance programmes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Groundsperson or in a similar grounds maintenance role.
• Proven experience maintaining AstroTurf and synthetic surfaces.
• Synthetic Sports Surface Maintenance training (essential).
• Knowledge of sports pitch maintenance and grounds care best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of sports pitches, playing fields, landscaped areas, and school grounds.
• Upkeep of AstroTurf and synthetic sports surfaces.
• Safe operation and maintenance of groundskeeping machinery and equipment.
• Carry out seasonal maintenance programmes and improvement projects.
• Ensure outdoor areas remain safe, clean, and visually appealing.
• Support the wider estates team with general site duties as required.
