Job summary

Sanctuary Group is recruiting a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader for Banbury, with a salary of £29,362–£30,908 per year. The role covers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and involves supervising a small team to maintain communal grounds across sites within an hour of Banbury.

You will oversee grass cutting, hedges, weeding, and ensure equipment is maintained and used safely. A PA1–PA6 pesticide cert and driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Pesticide Application Certificate PA1 – PA6 (or equivalent)
• NVQ3 or equivalent in Horticulture or similar discipline
• Recent experience of working within a similar role where operating gardening machinery is essential
• Some experience of supervising others
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Providing supervisory support in keeping estates well maintained and clean
• Using equipment and materials in a safe manner as instructed and in accordance with risk assessment and the manufacturer’s guidance
• Carrying out all hazardous tasks such as spraying, in accordance with supplier guidelines ensuring relevant records are maintained to comply with health and safety and legal requirements
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and continue to be suitable for required tasks
• Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations
