Job description

About The Role

Islington is looking to recruit a talented and energetic person to work in the Grounds Maintenance Service Housing Team.

The role will require outdoor work in all weathers with occasional heavy lifting, such as moving bags of green waste or wet leaves.

The successful candidate will need a proven track record of delivering Grounds Maintenance Services to high standards and training in the use of various power tools. Previous experience in Parks or Housing is desirable but not essential.

You will be responsible for submitting completed work reports, using a smartphone and app software after training. You will assist the Area Supervisor in providing an effective and efficient service. Communication skills, initiative, and alignment with Islington’s Council CARE values are essential.

Minimum requirements include:
- Experience in maintaining parks or housing estates.
- Knowledge and application of key horticultural skills.
- Ability to operate various horticultural power tools.
- Willingness to undertake regular training.
