Job summary

Riverside Group is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to undertake a range of grounds maintenance tasks across the Derby region, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, litter picking, and general site upkeep.

You will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a permanent contract. We value customer focus and safe working practices, and you will report to the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor. A clean UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Environmental Services / grounds maintenance experience.
• Ability to undertake manual work.
• Customer focused with excellent communication skills.
• Clean UK driving licence (must hold).
• Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent team player capable of flexible work.

Responsibilities

• Undertake general maintenance to hard and soft landscaped areas, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, litter picking, and shrub bed cultivation.
• Provide rapid flexible response to removal of fly tipping, rubbish, and graffiti.
• Maintain safe working practices when using hand tools and machinery.
• Report health, safety and environmental breaches to Grounds Maintenance Supervisor.
• Deliver high levels of customer service in line with Riverside values.
• Maintain relationships with colleagues across contracts and participate in training to keep up to date with legislation.
