Job summary

Pinnacle Group is seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative based in Sittingbourne to ensure that outdoor spaces across housing sites are well-maintained and well-presented. You will perform a variety of landscaping tasks, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges and shrubs, and clearing debris, while safely operating groundskeeping equipment and adhering to health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Good knowledge of horticultural practices, including planting, pruning, and weed control.
• Ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to grounds maintenance.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and the public.

Responsibilities

• Mowing, edging, and maintaining lawns to keep them neat and healthy.
• Trimming and shaping hedges, shrubs and bushes to promote growth and appearance.
• Removing weeds from flower beds, pathways and other landscaped areas.
• Planting flowers, shrubs, trees, and preparing soil and beds.
• Clearing debris, litter picking, sweeping pathways and maintaining outdoor cleanliness.
• Safely operating machinery such as mowers, strimmer and leaf blowers; maintaining tools and equipment.
• Driving company vehicles to transport equipment and access multiple sites as required.
• Following all safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Performing seasonal duties like leaf clearing, frost protection, or preparing sites for different weather conditions.
