Job summary

Riverside is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative in Derby to carry out maintenance across landscaped areas, gardens and open spaces owned by the Group. This permanent role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £24,507.16 per annum.

You will perform grass cutting, hedge trimming, litter picking and other maintenance tasks, ensuring safety and high standards of customer service. A UK driving licence is essential and basic IT skills are required; flexible, team-based working

Qualifications

Environmental Services / grounds maintenance experience.
Ability to undertake manual work.
Customer focussed with excellent communication skills.
Clean driving licence.
Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office.
Excellent team player who can work flexibly to meet business requirements.
It is a requirement that the role holder holds a current, valid UK driving license.

Responsibilities

Maintain general maintenance to hard and soft landscaped areas, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, litter picking, clearing leaves and shrub bed cultivations.
Provide a rapid flexible response to the removal of fly tipping, rubbish removal and graffiti removal.
Maintain safe working practices when using hand tools and machinery.
Report health, safety and environmental breaches to Grounds Maintenance Supervisor as per escalation route.
Deliver excellent customer service as part of ‘Our Riverside Way’.
