Job description

Morgan Hunt is recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to work with a Housing Trust based in Morden on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

Job Details:

• Hours: Full-time, 36 hours, Mon - Fri
• Salary: £25,207 for 6 months
• Location: Morden/Surrey

Purpose of the Job:

To undertake high-quality grounds maintenance including grass cutting, bed maintenance, tree and shrub pruning, and to perform caretaking functions such as external cleaning of roads, paths, communal areas, and refuse disposal on the Trust's estate(s).

To ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of equipment and tools in accordance with health and safety requirements and Housing's Health & Safety Policies, including keeping protective clothing clean.

To interact courteously and fairly with tenants, monitoring and reporting any visible breaches of tenancy agreements or nuisances on the estate.

Requirements:

• Previous ground maintenance experience is required.
• Ability to work on your own initiative.
• Relevant horticultural qualification or at least one year of multi-skilled grounds maintenance experience.
• Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety at work requirements.
